Cookie policy
No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. Just functional on-device storage.
This site avoids third-party advertising technology entirely. What it uses instead is a small amount of first-party, on-device storage so the site remembers your choices. Nothing here follows you across the web.
What we store on your device
| Name | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
pb-consent | Remembers your cookie-banner choice (accepted / rejected) | localStorage, first-party | Until you clear site data |
pb-theme | Remembers your light / dark / system theme | localStorage, first-party | Until you clear site data |
pb-read | Remembers reading options (size, width, font) | localStorage, first-party | Until you clear site data |
| Service-worker cache | Keeps visited pages and the stylesheet available offline | Cache API, first-party | Managed automatically (capped) |
Optional analytics (consent-gated)
Privacy-friendly analytics is currently disabled. It never loads until you press Accept in the cookie banner. Pressing Decline optional means it never loads for you. No advertising profiles are built either way.
Third-party requests that are not our cookies
- Cover images come from Open Library. That request can expose your IP and user agent to their CDN, like any embedded image. They do not set our cookies, and we do not share identifiers with them.
- No embeds for YouTube, social widgets, or ad networks — so no hidden third-party cookies from those.
How to change your choice
- Click Cookie settings in the site footer at any time to re-open the banner and change your answer.
- Clear site data in your browser settings to erase
pb-consent,pb-theme, andpb-readin one go. - Use your browser's “block third-party cookies” setting for extra assurance — this site keeps working, because it does not depend on them.
